Turtablist/DJ Kid Koala has a new project on the horizon that was actually spawned from the ashes of a failed film soundtrack. The story goes something like this…
A few years back Eric San (aka Kid Koala) and Dylan J. Frombach (aka Dynomite D) were asked to soundtrack a documentary film that was in production. The duo worked for a long time on the psych rock-influenced score, only for the film to be canned in the end. A few years later Kid Koala met up with the former rhythm section of Wolfmother, Chris Ross and Myles Heskett. When Koala played them the lost soundtrack, the guys urged Koala to put the music out, and that was what they did.
The gents are now embarking on tour, under the alias The Slew, to bring that lost soundtrack to the masses. Using drums, keys/bass, raw guitar parts and six turntables, the sound they have to share is big.
The music will only be available on tour so if you in one of the cities, go listen you wont be disappointed.
